Notebook Cooler

Can any of you recommend a solid notebook cooler for my laptop? I use a Targus chill pad with 4 USB ports but I keep getting BSOD's with a message to the effect of "USB Bugcode". I cant find much info via google on how to fix this issue...is a driver of some kind needed? Or is this specific cooler just broken some how? I'm not too sure.

You know, I saw this laptop pad a walmart I considered purchasing. It was $15 and was more of a stand than a pad. The laptop set on a mesh deal and it was propped off the ground a good bit. More for using it as a desktop replacement, but I feel quite sure it'd help keep my laptop cooler.
