Notebook for $2000

hey, I am new to the forums.
I was hoping that some of you kind people could help me out.
I am going to college in a couple months and need a laptop computer. I have about 2000-2500 dollars. I will need this laptop to be able to play computer games and be able to function well in college.

Forget Alienware, get a Dell XPS Gen2. Geforce Go 6800 Ultra, only company that offers the Go Ultra I believe.

No offence but that Dell notebook seems a little bulky to me. I'd don't like lug that around, but thats just me.

(I would go for the X800go) Option B would be the http://www.alienware.com/Configurat...sCode=PC-LT-AREA51-M-7700&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT which is slightlycheaper, and also would handle anything. If you get the alienware, opt for the 3.2 Ghz, and 1 gigabyte 512mb x2.

I like the dell gen 2 but it is pretty expensive.
Lets say that I can only spend a maximum of 1800-200 dollars. Is there any nice laptops that can handle games like half life 2 and still function as a good college laptop at that price.

get tthe inspirion 9300 from dell and get a 6800go and buy the ram yourself and you should fit in that price range
