Nothing loads!

Hey all. I do not know if this is the proper forum but I just do not know what is wrong with my computer. When i start up everythign is fine right up until i login. As soon as AIM tries to login it instantly stops responding and closes and from then on it will not open if i try to reload. NO other programs tned to load either besides windows media player and Word. Things such as internet browsers cease to function and programs like spyware removes tend to freeze in the middle of searches. Any ideas?

do ya have another profile to try and start? You should have a backdoor ya know. work your way to control panel and user accounts. create two, at least i would. with admin rights. reboot and try.

Maybe its related to Aim.....don't use it. without starting Aim will anthing else start?

the only other suggestions i would have is:

clean the registery and do some housekeeping cleanup. www.ccleaner.com

the only other thing if this does not work, of course ive been talking about XP.

control panel
programs
Accessories
System tools/system restore (to another date) might have been working.

its a start without more information.
