Nothing loads!

Hey all. I do not know if this is the proper forum but I just do not know what is wrong with my computer. When i start up everythign is fine right up until i login. As soon as AIM tries to login it instantly stops responding and closes and from then on it will not open if i try to reload. NO other programs tned to load either besides windows media player and Word. Things such as internet browsers cease to function and programs like spyware removes tend to freeze in the middle of searches. Any ideas?

try uninstalling you IM program and install it again, if not, restart the computer and keep pressing F8 and boot in safe mode and do a full virus scan. if those don't work, i think the easiest thing to do, would be to format you hard disk.
