Now i cant even get it to turn on!

ok as most of you know i posted a week ago about my computer randomly shutting off and then if i hit it it would turn back on, Well now guess wat it wont even turn on. I hit it and the standby light on the motherboard flickers tehn turns off and i cant get it to turn on, if anyone knows anything that could be wrong please help me!
 
well i dont have another PSU but it looks like im gona have to buy one, but it there any way i could have ruined the motherboard? the standby lights wouldnt turn on if it was ruined would they?
 
oblivion, my sister had the same problem recently. only, her computer emit this high pitched squeak when it was on. PSU replaced, all worked well. I highly doubt your motherboard sustained resonable damage, however, i don't think that possibility should be ruled out yet.
 
well i would run that test if i could get that thing to turn on. I hit it so hard it was unbelieveable my hand is bruised and cut and all it did was flicker!
 
buy a new psu from your local store, make sure you read their return policy. Put it in your comp, do what Lord AnthraX told you to do. See if it works, if it does, you can eaither return the psu and get a better one or w/e, or you can just keep that one. if it doesn't, then return the psu.
 
I agree with the others, sounds like a power supply problem... Just be careful. When something electrical goes wrong with you're PC, it's hard to know if it spread or if it's just the power supply...
 
OK well i went to Frys Electronics and baught an Antec 550W PSU now it runs like a dream i guess taht crappy aspire just couldnt handle it!
