Now Im bored.

Plenty of televisions? With the "evidence" you just gave in that link, I could make the claim that there are plenty of people driving around in F1 cars, it is a ridiculous claim.

For a consumer TV set, not an experimental, specialised or prototype TV set using a proposed resolution like you linked, it only goes to 1920x1080 at this moment in time

Yeah, 1080p is generally the max, i was suprized a week or 2 ago saw something about the first tv in the US with a like 20 something to like 16 aspect ratio, it was super wide screen so it was the same as movies are shot in or something and it was a higher res than 1080, but other than that never seen anything higher for a tv really.

20:16 = 5:4 = the old "square" screens, like so:

Higher numbers doesn't = wider or taller screens, it is the aspect ratio and like every other ratio, it is the proportion of one thing to another, in this case width to height, and like all ratio's, are generally given in the simplest format, the same as simplifying fractions.

16/20 = 4/5.

You have 5 units of width to every 4 units of height, so the display on every 5:4 display has a width that is 25% greater than the height.

The screen you saw was probably either 16:9, which is standard widescreen, or 3:1, which is panoramic

I really wanted to say something along these lines but withheld myself. Didn't want to start a fight.

I think the trouble is you're focusing way too much on how nice it looks. Yes, it is an important part and that's why I have a 670, but just focus on the game and how much fun it is to play!

But if you haven't got/tried BF3 yet, I'd say that.

If you have money to invest, I'd go for a real monitor and not a TV. Night and day difference, with clarity and response time.

Don't screw with the same kind of games, otherwise boredom is unavoidable. Try some games that callenge your mind more, like portal, go for a good rpg, like mage kinght apokalypse. Try some strategies, like warcraft.. And resident evil 4. If you don't play RE4, you have lived for nothing.

Argh, wow, come on. Strategy? Not really, I love wow, but it's not really a strategy. Portal and portal 2 Are awesome! A rts would be fun if you are into those, I love rts games.

There are at least four 4K tvs on the market including the LG 84LM960V.

i said 20 something, looked it up and appears to be 25:16 and if it is then it should be WQSXGA which was the lowest of them and is actually 3200x2048, i hope that's right and if so i want one!

You heard it here first guys, 4 now warrants the description of "plenty", even when the only cited TV in these 4 isn't even released yet.

I was responding to the blanket statement that they don't go over 1080p at all. Quit your trolling because on the commercial side of things, (those who can spend 40K on a panel), there are plenty. To say there isn't is nonsense.

Well, Origin is officially crap. EA trying too much to be like Steam and it doesnt even work. At all. So I bought BF3 since it was on "sale" (what EA thinks is a sale anyway) for $54.50 that comes with an expansion pack and something else. So it told me I had to download origin to download the game, did it, then went under my games like it said, and there was nothing there. So, I tried to figure out what the deal was, even restarted my computer with no luck and so far its been 5 hours and still isnt there even though its under the order history tab.

And so far I have found out in another game that my TV will do 1920x1080 at 60hz. Which is nice, Ill see how much higher it can go.

And yes I loved dead island. I have it for Xbox. Havent played it on PC, but it was fun on my console for a while but started to get boring a little after I beat it twice.

Will probably take my rig over to this guys house this weekend who has a 55inch 120hz TV. That should look pretty good....

To say there is and give the only evidence as some proposed technology and a tv that isn't on the market and then still claim that there are plenty is even more nonsense. There are plenty of displays that can go over 1920x1080, nobody is arguing that, but you are still yet to back up your claim that there are plenty of consumer tv's over 1080, up to now you have brought a whole 0 to the table which isn't even a few or some or a couple or even a unit

G80, to get BF3 working, have you gone to Origin > My Games and made sure that Show at the top has All Games or at least Hidden there? If they are not there and are not showing as purchased, check your bank statement and see if it has come out of your account. If it hasn't, you made a mistake or there was a fault with the system. If it has, get in touch with EA.

Have you considered the F1 games too?

Yea I did everything the email told me to, theres nothing under my games. And under my order history tab it displays them as PC and Electronic download and says that no unlock code is required. But nowhere to download them.
And when the $54.50 actually goes through to my account is when EA will be hearing from me.

Under order history it says its already been paid for, so I would imagine it has already gone through to my bank account. I wont know until a few days when my online banking statement updates.

EDIT:

CellFactor: Revolution anyone? Remember when this game first came out, was all the rage and it took a monster of a computer to run it too. I had an AMD X2 and a 7300GS when this game came out and I remember the 1FPS I managed on lowest settings. Cant wait to see what my computer can do with it like 6 years later.
