NTLDR is missing

My motherboard recently crashed on me so I had to purchase a new one. and I have also formated my primary drive. When I try to install windows, after the post screen it says "boot from cd..." then after a few seconds it says "NTLDR is missing." Now I know what the usual cause of that error is but why would it come up when I am trying to install windows on a formated drive? I have switched IDE cables and cd-rom drives, any ideas?

It could be that if you have more than one drive installed that it is looking for windows on the wrong on. So check you bios settings and make sure you are booting from the right drive

Sounds like the boot order isn't correct. Is the problem just that you can't boot to the CD-ROM or what? If you just installed windows and this problem's happening, I'd try to simply install again.
