does anyone use ntune (from nvidia) for overclocking? I just got it and was curious about what everyone else thinks

It's garbage. Uninstall it immediately. It doesn't work, and could hose up your system. Learn how to manually overclock. It's easy and fun. :D

Whoa Ntune sucks that bad?? I installed because it came with my computer to install my mobo. Should I uninstall the programs and leave just the drivers? I dont OC anyway...

Yeah, I think you should. Others' may disagree with me (I doubt it), however.

Im having problems with my internet speeds being very fickle and ntune controls my LAN I believe, could that possibly have something to do with it?

No. That's your ethernet controller drivers. nTune shouldn't interfere with your LAN. I'd still get rid of it. Which mobo do you own?

I have the ASUS M2N-Plus Vista ready mobo (I love this board thus far) I recently upgraded to 6Mb/s DSL but Im getting really eratic speeds. One sec it goes 400+ Kb/s for about a minute or so, then it slows WAY down to about 12 or 20 Kb/s for the remainder of the time. Jumps around a lot. I have the most recent LAN drivers installed, dont know what else to do! Also tried calling my ISP but they are stumped too. It only happens when Im downloading, webpages and such load perfect and super fast.

You don't want nTune installed on your computer, it will cause files corrupts random crashes/freezes and some people even have to reset their cmos or even reinstall windows... nTune is the Devil!

If you plan on Overclocking your video card try to use ATI Tool, it will work with most nvidia cards too

Well I guess im getting rid of NTune when I get home :P

You better

i thought my motherboard was dieing when it was installed, i was getting crashes blue screens and all that scary mess :mad:

If you look around i have yet to find 1 person that nTune doesn't trash their system

Will uninstalling get rid of everything? Or do I need to do something more extreme like re-intsall Vista?

Im having a few so hopefully it will take care of it!

Awesome! Perfect time to experiment with OC'ing! :P

uninstalling the program will keep my drivers right?

Yeah, you'll keep your drivers. If I remember correctly, it's kind of tricky. See if ntune is listed seperately in the add/remove menu. If it isn't, you have to click "nVidia drivers" and uncheck everything but nTune, I think.

nTune is a program, its listed in the add/remove list... just uninstall like you would anything else :)

Yeah, that's true. I remember having problems. It seemed like I had to do something "extra" to get rid of it. Good luck. :)
