nube sum questions

im getting ready to buy a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB Hard Drive for dell dimension c521. it only has a 80 gb right now. im curious to kno if there are any other benefits other than the huge memory dif. again im pretty new to working on pcs.
any help would be great

The new hdd would most likely be faster because the Dell harddrives spin at usually a slow RPM to keep the comp quiet.
