nuked the HD

I came across a Compaq Presario 1200 that had been completely nuked, Darik's Boot and Nuke, to be exact. The floppy was still in the drive. I have been trying to install Ubuntu but have not been having any luck. It boots to the graphic screen but has all kinds of errors and will not install. So I think it has to do with the fact that there are no drivers and stuff.

Truth is I don't know what to do... so my question is, if I have a nuked HD what do i have to do to ready it for an OS install?

sorry if this belongs in a different forum... let me know and I will repost!

A nuked HD should be ready to be partitioned and formated by an OS installer. There shouldn't be anything you need to do that the OS installer cannot do.

if i were you, id put a windows disk in and format the disk, then try installing linux again, it might work
