My friend and I want to build a computer or two that will handle huge math problems. Pretty much, we're going to taste the water of theoritical computing. So, which processor or processors would be the best for number crunching?

1. Intel P4
2. AMD Athalon XP+
3. AMD Athalon 64bit
4. Dual Intel Xeon/P4
5. Two computers with each a AMD or P4 chip

WHy not make a computer that calulates pi to many decimal places. Have a look at the program "pifast". There is a worl record for the number of decimal places calculated. I think its somewhere in the trillians.
