number of running proceses

when u pres ctrl-alt-del how many processes are running?
see it shows 32 to me.... isnt that `a little bit` too much???
what can i do about it?

ps: win xp; can pc run slower because of that?

depends on what version of Windows you have

generally speaking thought 32 sounds like too many processes to be running if you are idle....
