Numeric keypad won't work in new keyboard

I don't know if it is something haywire in the computer itself or what, but my former Logitech keyboard suddenly quit working on the numeric keypad. Thinking the keyboard went kaput, I bought a Microsoft keyboard and the same thing is happening with the numeric keypad. Can't get it to work at all.

Is there a setting I need to find to fix this? I'm dead in the water without that keypad because I used it constantly.

Any ideas, please? :confused:
