Hi , I pick up one of these, and let me tell you it is a dream. It is very easy to instal thats all you do is unscrew the old heatsink and screw this one in and thats it. My temps dropped about 8 C. Besides the temp drop it is whisper quite, I mean you can hear this thing AT ALL. It was the best 40 dollars i ever spent. Also if you have ATI they make them for those cards also. If you have the means do yourself a favor and pick on up.

Its not i just found a good product and if someone has a overheating videocard im giving them the heads up that it works great.

P.S. Please don't try and be an admin if your not one, I already get enough flack from them.

Yep I was thinking abnout buying that Silencer too.. My stock cooler is kind of a monster if ytou think about sound levels..

Well this thing cools like you wouldn't believe and you can't hear it at all. Also since it ports the hot air out the back it lowered my CPU temp by about 3 C. Which doesn't sound like much but every bit helps.

it helps alot.... but a word to the wise..... dont EVER take off the memory thermal pads... its MUCH more of a pain in the ass.... i took mine off and wound up taking the seperate memory cooler ment for the memory on the back of the card and cut the metal into strips to have proper spaces between the memory and the heatsink...

haha ya i didn't do that, although i thought about it to put AS5 there, but now im glad i didn't lol.

Dont know what all the hype is, that thing takes up another slot (which isnt a big deal to me being the video card is the only expansion card I have in my system.

Theres one in Muse's system, I have stock cooling on my 7800GT and my card idles lower then her 6800GS, and at full load its lower then hers. And my stock cooling doesnt take up any extra slots.

the NV is quieter, it keeps the temps down, as idleing its not that high with stock cooling, but im sure your card probably gets warmer then hers while gaming, correct? and if not, i know her card runs warm.... mine did too, untill i got an NV, now my card is much cooler then yours... mine idles at 100F even with my "quiet mode" fans (which is basically most of my fans turned off except my CPU fan, front and back 120mm fans, and PSU) and it drops to about 94F when they are all on

I idle at 35C, and I just played 3 maps of Dynasty Warriors 4 Hyper, @ 20min each, and the card shows 39C :P and my CPU is a mere 34C (again stock cooling)

Now as far as being quiet,, my system is a lot quieter then Muse's, you are too obsessive with cooling, 45C is not hot :P

my computer is FAR quiter then hers, you can hear the damn harddrive over the quiet set, given when i jack up the fans its a vaccuume, but i do that while only overclocking past 2.8GHz and even then its not needed

Temperatures
Motherboard 34 °C (93 °F)
CPU 36 °C (97 °F)
GPU 42 °C (108 °F)
GPU Ambient 36 °C (97 °F)
Maxtor 6Y120P0 25 °C (77 °F)

Cooling Fans
CPU 1269 RPM
Chassis 1562 RPM

thats 20 seconds after playing fear for an hour, on the quiet set, overclocked to 2.6GHz and the memory at 1T HTT at 2125, and thats also the videocard overclocked

With all those fans in there I doubt its really quiet

These were my temps minutes after 1hr of DW4 hyper, and my system is pretty quiet.

Temperatures
Motherboard 28 °C (82 °F)
CPU 34 °C (93 °F)
CPU Diode 15 °C (59 °F)
Aux 26 °C (79 °F)
GPU 35 °C (95 °F)
WDC WD1600JB-00GVA0 33 °C (91 °F)
Maxtor 6Y250P0 43 °C (109 °F)
Seagate ST380013AS 36 °C (97 °F)
WDC WD360GD-00FNA0 33 °C (91 °F)

No they make them for ATI too, and to master what kind of 7800 GT do you have cause thats kinda unrealistic that your temps are that low at load considering my go up to like 60.

Ya i saw the BFG in your sig but they sold two different types of those. I had the other one with the all copper heat sink and blue lights. I never got even close to that temp, are you sure your program is reading it right? Or maybe your MB?

what did i tell you fool, i have 2 120mm fans at 1200RPM, a 92mm fan at 1500RPM, and two quiet 80mm fans.... its so quiet in its "quiet set" that you can hear the harddrive... its only obnoxious when i crank up the fan speeds and turn on the 3 high speed fans

EDIT: also im playing FEAR at 1600x1200, with 2xAA and 4xAF, which im sure stresses my computer more then DW4 stresses yours

Mine has the blue light on it. All programs I run to see the temps all show the same thing.
