Hay guys, I have absolutely maxed what I was going to pay for a gaming pc, I mean I cant go anymore, NONE, so is a 6600 video card good enough to play some of the newer games??
wow
half-life 2 episode:one
call of duty 2
guild wars
etc. etc.

Yes, I played BF2 with a 6600GT AGP 128meg card at medium settings and I think HL2 was medium to high...can't remember

It will play those games fairly well, probably not maxed out, but at decent settings. I know I can play all those games with my FX5600, so theres no reason you cant play it better.

Perhaps you should consider getting a cheaper CPU/Mobo/ect. The 6600 are starting to become old news. For a true gaming machine, at least get a 7600.

I cant get a cheaper mobo/cpu, Ive went as low as I can go leme tell you guys the specs, and realized i can get a better one for around 25 bucks more, here are specs from ipower.com

[Socket-AM2] AMD Athlon™64 X2 3800+ Dual-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology
CoolerMaster Liquid CPU Cooling Fan System Kit
Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G GeForce 6100 Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0, IEEE-1394 PCI-E MB
1024MB [512MB X2] DDR2-800 PC6400 Memory Module
nvidea geforece 7300gs :D
160 GB HARD DRIVE

Onboard LAN Network (Gb or 10/100)

THINKING ABOUT CHANGING THE AM2 DUAL CORE CPU TO A AMD Athlon™64 3500+ CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology , i really dont want to , but I cant afford the other cpu, and i know this is about video cards, but u think my processor will still play the games to??

Get rid of the liquid cooling, it's not worth it. Also hold off on the video card for a while, since you have integrated you can use that for a bit until you can afford something like the 7600GS/GT.

well.............the intergrated isn't bad for intergrated but i wanted it all at once.
Trust me, in the long run you would be glad that you waited a few weeks and get the 7600GS/GT instead of the 7300GS.

Wait till conroe comes out, they'll be major price cuts for the AM2 line. Then use the extra money to get the 7900gt or something.
