is the quad going down and what price will it be in what month
i dont have alot of money to spend on my computer.. so the idea of SLI is pretty cool.
I do believe all the kinks associated with SLI will be worked out sooner or later.. You gotta admit it's an awesome concept. And it is true That sometimes SLI will give very little improvement in some games, especially with the higher end cards. However I have seen benchmarks testing two 7600gt's in SLI and the improvements are Striking. The average frame rate increase is between 60-80%, which isn't double but it allows a 7600gt setup to compete with much better cards. If the 8600 Ultra is lucky enough to inherit these traits then i'll happily stick two in SLI.. One when they come out, and another when their price comes down enough. Now I understand RAM will not increase.. but i don't do any editing and cannot play my games higher than a 1280x1024 resolution, their alternatives being two of the biggest reasons for opting for larger VRAM. I don't know about the rest of you but i dont have alot of money to spend on my computer.. so the idea of SLI is pretty cool.
ah that's bull.. companies do stuff like that to make you think you're getting more than you are.. Does that really surprise anyone?

And if you're trying to say that you would rather buy say, two 7600GT's instead of a 7950GT, thats a bad choice.
That and i dont think 2 7600s could compete with a single 7950GT anyway.
No worse then Intel claiming P4s with 800mhz FSBs![]()
