Nvidia 8900 Info

The 8900 GS will be the cheapest G80-based card. The 80 nanometre based beast is clocked at 550MHz core and 1600MHZ memory. The card has the 256-bit memory controller and comes with 256 or 512MB of GDDR3 memory. It also has 96 Shaders. The 256MB version will cost $200 while 512MB incarnation will end up at around the $250 price mark

why would the 8900gs be cheaper then the 8800gts? dooes any one know when the 8900 is comming out? i planned on getting a 320mb 8800gts but id rather get this

do you guys think a ocz 700watt gamestream can power up 2 of them?

Dude, use the edit function if you have some additionally to say. Ask Nvidia why the prices. The 8900 GTX is schedule to be released same time as ATI's R600 which is end of March/start of April. I highly doubt your power supply could handle them as PC Power & Cooling 1000W is the only SLI 8800 GTX certified PSU on the market.

think is a hypothesis other people might know... theres your answer

Yes the 700W will power 2 8900GS's. Also in regards to your rig. Why would you buy a 6600 or 6700 (insane) and get a slower video card? Get a 4300 and OC it or a 6300. Save the money and put into a video card. You would see much bigger gains trust me. I own aa 6600 and have built 3 6300 systems myself and benchmarked them.

if i save the money i would want to get a 8800gtx cause there going down 2 450 dollars but would my psu be able to handle 2 of the : (

I agree with grey410, the only dif that i know of between the 4300 and 6xxx models is higher cache. Save it up for a sweet vid card. :D

yeah but i cant get 88000ts now then in chrismas ett another 1 and watch it not powerup, im building my computer when the prices go down so the e6600 will be 224.

im either gonna get 8900gs or 8800gts if the 8900 is single sloted im defidently gonna get it so i can keep my wireless card and tv tuner. otherwise i will pick what will run best in sli together

well i didn't see a release date.. so i guess it would be a good idea if you're willing to wait. I want the 7900gs..

i wonder if the 8900gs is better then the 8800gts prob not cause the prices on that webpage are pow but its not gonna be exactly right. pray that the 8900gs/gt will not take up 2 slots
