Nvidia Clone to watch on TV Please Help

Hello

I got the MSI Nvidia FX5200 128mb Video card. I plugged my tv through s-video and cloned it and it work but it was black and white but now I got the color working on my TV. The problem I am having now is that when I play a movie from my computer it shows a pitch black but when i play a song with windows media player i see the color of the waves. I also use realplayer but I can't see the movie playing on my TV. Can someone help me or tell me what is wrong or what I have to configure. Thank you for your time reading my post and thank you in advance for helping me.

had the same card and same issue, what you do is in the nvidia manager that lets you select your displays, 1 being your pc monitor and 2 being your TV, you have to higlight the TV and check the box that says "make this your primary display" then click apply. You will be able to view video on your TV now, but not your pc monitor, it's one or the other, I don't think the card can handle both.

It does let you view both and I have tried it. I got the color working yesterday but now its black and white again and i don't know how to fix it. Giving me a big headache. I click the force TV Detection box and then go to nView display settings and click clone and I see it on my pc and tv. The problem I am having now is that when I play something I don't see the image but i seee everything else on my desktop. I was wondering if anyone know how to fix the problem.

I think it says in nvdias technical support part of their website how to get colour. I never got video working on both, you should try just using the tv as main display while watching video.

Make it open by defualt in the monitor/tv you are going to use, it was something like this to make it work, Point is you can, what you cant do is move the windowed media player while running into the other side.

Also, try turning all hardware acceleration off in the media player options.

The big downside of that is his main monitor is now a awsome 320x240 :(

tv resolution is actually 720x480, and I suggest only having it switched on as his main monitor while watching videos on his tv.

I was thinking of digital ntsc which has a signal of 720x480, the fx5200 uses an s-video connection which has an analog signal of 640x480.

i had this problem with a different nvidia card... i didnt clone the screen i set it as duel display and dragged the video over to the tv then maximized it

Right now I can't get the color on my TV. I did it once the first time I made this post but these couple of days I tried putting the color back on it didn't work. on the Nvidia support site it say that the cable shouldn't be more then 12 feet or else it will lose color quality and could also be black and white if the cable is longer. I tried 12 feet and it still doesn't work. When i start up windows where you see Microsoft Windows XP and there is a loading bar that is in color but when I get to desktop its black and white. does that mean there is a configuration on my desktop and there is nothing wrong with my TV or plugs? Or would it be my video doesn't work with video out using the s-video?

well if its displaying colour on startup id say it would be a safe bet to say the card and cable are fine... are you using S-video to S-video,S-video to scart, S-video to RCA etc..?
