I have a nvidia geforce 6200 le its absolute shit!! I know nothing about which Graphics cards to buy so i always end up buying a new PC that has a diff card lol... Heres the details of my motherboard

NEC COMPUTER INTERNATIONAL

Model - GA-8TRC410M-NF
Chipset ATI r5400/rc400/rc410
Southbridge ATI sb400
LPCIO ite it8712

Graphics Interface
Version - PCI Express
Link Width X16 Max X16

What kind of Graphics card do i need ATI or NVIDIA ??

If you know can you list Graphics cards that my machine can take, which are better than the one i already have.

Much appreciated!!!

Since it has a PCI-E x16 slot it can handle any type of PCI-E x16 video card, even the current high end $600 ones.

However, if you dont want to upgrade your power supply, then we need to know what you have so we can give you an idea of what you can upgrade to. That and your budget.

please dont swear :)

as [-omega-] said, you can pretty much have whatever card you want. why dont you
a) Give us a budget
b) Tell us you PSU requirements
c) Let us know the rest of the pc setup, there may be other componants need upgrading to make the most of a gpu upgrade

Thats my pc is the power supply mentioned in that, if not tell me where to find that info

my budget is a MEASLEY £100 but i was hoping to find a graphics card reduced from that
We now know that you have a P4 3.06GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive.

However it doesnt list the power supply specs. What you can do is open up the side panel to your case, and on the power supply it should say the wattage and list the amps for each rail. Just a note, the power supply is the box which you plug the power cable into.

Yes the 8800GTS is a great card. It uses the PCI-E interface (not PCI), however from the specs you gave us in the first post, you have a PCI-E x16 slot so you're all set. As for it being GDDR3, that doesnt make any difference, the RAM in your computer has nothing to do with compatibility of the RAM on the video card.

I have my doubts that you can use your existing power supply though, but we will say for sure when you get back home.

Ok ive finally found what i wanted!!

The 8800gt is actually a better card, it was released yesterday in the US, and i think it's supposed to be released today in the UK. It cost the same, or even less than the gts. spring for that one instead.
