Nvidia Geforce 8600 gts

Can i put a 8600 gts on a Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz ? like i dont want to put it on and find out the motherboard doesnt allow it and the motherboard to break. and also i got 1gb of ram can i run world of warcraft on low low settings with the 8600 gts and 1gb ram on this? thx.
I have a dell if tht means anything, lol

Which dell do you have? You can run any video card you want as long as you have the correct type of video slot in your computer. If you have an AGP slot in your computer, you would need an AGP video card, which there isn't many really decent agp cards left in the market.

I have a Dell 2400.......I actaully am interested in a new pc since mine is so bad. I kinda think i wanna buy a pc because you get a warrenty but if i buy stuff off newegg and then like in 3 months find out something is wrong with a part wont i be screwed? also.. im new to PC's and i wanna learn how to build them and stuff where can i learn about that.
