nVidia GT 8800 vs. ATI HD 3800

I read the toms hardware review of the 8800 gt, it sounds like a great card.
I had a GF3 Ti200 at one stage, long time ago.

The 3800 should on sale now, preorders, etc.

As these cards seem to be made by many makers,
whats the diff?

Do you mean the 3870? Performance wise the 8800GT is a bit better, but then again it costs upwards of $70 more.
