nVidia GTX275 or ATI HD 5850?

Which one of the two is more powerful? I tried to compare the two online but I couldn't find anything (when I found one the other wasn't there, and comparing from two different websites is near to impossible). Does anyone know what the performance of each of the units is?

So how much more graphic processing power would I be looking at?

I'm going to overclock the GPU very soon... Is the ATI the better for overclocking? (I guess you would be looking at running temperature...)

If you already have a 275, not sure if its worth it to you upgrading to a 5850. I would see if you could sell the 275 and with the extra money get a 5870.

ati cards overclock amazingly. those things can go sooooo high on even stock voltage. Nvidia barely oc's. I can do more oc'ing on my 4890 core then an Nvidia can do on its core, shader, and mem combined. (slight exaggeration but pretty accurate in general)

The reason I'm changing cards is because I want to overclock... I'm already selling my GTX275 to get the 5850... My GTX275 is producing massive amounts of heat(in fact at not even the highest speed it is making about 88 degrees Celsius, I was playing a game that used 512 mb of the 875 available with a single screen and no other programs working. The operating temperatures that the pump of the water cooling system likes is about 60 degrees clesius, but it is after the reservoir and the radiator, but if I can get an cheap update to a card that will produce a lot less heat, I will be able to overclock that GPU unit much further than I would be able to with the nVidia), I was going to update my GPU because once I have a block for the GPU I won;t switch to a new card anytime soon because those blocks aren't cheap...

I have decided for a 5850... At the moment what I'm doing is replacing all parts of my desktop slowly to the new generation of technology, but aiming for a high mid range so that I can do the same thing next year... To me the 5870 isn't worth it if I'm going to overclock them anyway because they are basically the same chip apart of that one has randomly a bit more performance than the other...
