nVidia idiotic?/ ATi prediction.....

I took a look at nVidia's new 8800 series cards and found they're $500-$700 for one video card alone. Last time I checked, prices like those were for cards meant for people who were doing graphic intense stuff like CAD. Who are they trying to sell to? And in retrospect, it's going to take a whole year or two before they finally realize that they losing money with prices look those and finally lower their prices.....

My prediction is ATi will come out with a more cost efficient, alternative card that, although, might not out-perform the 8800 series, but will definitely out-sell nVidia's 8800 series.....

Compared to previous high end releases, the 8800GTX isn't particularly expensive. There is clearly a market for cards of this price, something that I would say is unlikely to change anytime in the near future.

The G80 series is for gamers, and tons of rich kids will be buying them for their rigs. When the 7800GTX first came out, it was $750 I believe, and $490 for an 8800GTX DX10 card doesn't seem like that much money actually. I believe the R600 will cost more then the G80 did when it was released.

When are they releasing these badass cards? I wonder how much better these cards will be then cards like the 1950XT and 7950GS2?

A couple days from last week. :D They're already out. ;)

Whaaa? DX10 cards are already out?!

That's awesome!

EDIT: Just saw it on Newegg.com Sorry!

Do you think this is a worthy purchase? I am wondering if I should wait for Crysis to come out and other DX10 games. Because by then this card should be NOT be the best card on the market, right?
