Nvidia Monitor can it be trusted

Hey guys i decided to go water cooling 4 my cpu, after gettin over the worryin of mixin water with electricity, I was surprised how easy it was to setup. Ive build a computer or 2 b4, but never taken 1 apart b4, my main worry was removing the old heatsink and attaching the waterblock.
Now to get 2 the point, the reason 4 this water coolin (apart from OCin) was that nvidia monitor was tellin me my cpu temps were 65c idle and 79c load. Now the temps r 48c idle and 60c load. I personaly think these temps r a load of rubbish. In the bios my cpu temps r 37c and i download another temp monitorin program and i says 38c idle.

Easy solution use different program. I would but they to conflict with the nforce drivers on my motherboard and games crash constantly. To make life harder i also need 2 u smartdoctor (NO other program will work) 4 my en8800gt and i took me ages just 2 get smartdoctor and nvidia monitor 2 work together. I spend good money on all this nvidia stuff and they cant b bothered 2 make some decent software.

Anyone else have this problem?
any ideas much apreciated
 
well i guess 37 is good but i would expect better of a water cooler, unless you have tweaked the voltage at all?
 
I forgot to say that ive oc the cpu from 3 to 3.4Ghz, so if the temp 37 is right then i think that is fairly gd. Still i want to use nvidia monitor because its easy 2 use and it records the temps so u can go back after play a game to c wat the max temps were.
 
well in short yes it can be trusted just open speedfan and nvidia monitor at the same time and that will tell you if its right on or not.
 
i dunno wat 2 go off, cpu temps or core temps ?. Im guessing that the core temps r the ones i should keep an eye on wen i comes 2 OC
 
A lot of people are getting weird temps with different programs. Google it and you can look at thousands of posts with the same problem. I have had 5 programs open and getting different temps on all. The range was 20c from lowest to highest. I don't really think there is a perfect solution to tell you the exact temp of a processor. I use my BIOS, Asus PCprobe II and core temp....they say the exact same thing....I hope it's right. :)
