nvidia or ati for Far Cry?

Neither is "better", nor worse, you should just get the best card or the money you have at your disposal unless you're a fanboy, but if that case you probably wouldn't ask which company is better... I think?

Any specific you're aiming for?
 
Far Cry is optimised for nVidia (the old "the way its meant to be played"). Probably wont make much difference these days though...
 
Dont need much

An old card like an radeon x800 can run it well, and a new card like a geforce 8600 can prettymuch max it out.
