Hi, was just browsing the nvidia site and noticed a flash animation of a new product of theirs called the quadro plex.
Which can be seen on the link below:
http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html

Not 100% sure about this, but is it a system which you connect to your standard PC which basically will allow high end graphics? SO basically its a mini pc but only graphical components and you connect it upto a normal pc for game playing? Any ideas?

EDIT: I see , basically their servers. http://www.nvidia.com/page/quadroplex_comparison_chart.html

Starting from $17.500.... Good idea though..

well... the NVidia Quadro grafic's cards were so far for Industrial use,.. you know, professional use. i assume from that that thise Quadro plex is for presentations etc. you know, connect it to a laptop and play something on a Huge resolution for a presentation,(usually the on board grafic's in a laptop cant handle that i think,.. )

but..like i said, its just a guess out of the blue... i could be wrong on that ofcourse :)

EDIT:

its for professional use, just read it :D

Says on the nvidia site thats for industrial use. If you watch the flash animation shows it being connected itno a rack case. Which is pretty sweet.

No, definitely not. That thing would suck at games.

Not really. It is used for high end 3D modeling and stuff like that. It is really just external high-end SLI GPUs, but not for gaming.

Like i said.. i could be wrong... im at 'work' (for school) atm,.. and these pc's cant run everything,.. i couldnt review the specs of it for example.

For example, the name quadro, suggests it has quadro grafic's cards,.. wich are used for professional use only ( those are like $5k grafic's cards, wich reallt suck at games tough :P ) so that the quadro-box wouldnt be good for gaming is pretty clear i gues. (or at least to me)

well... i think you could define that sentence a bit difference... For a $17500 SLI setup it SUCKS at games :D

I am not talking about price, I am speaking of performance.

An FX5200 sucks at games. The Quadro Plex can't perform with the high end cards. But it still has a crapload of graphical processing power, it is not optimized for gaming and it's way too expensive. But my point is, I am sure it is not that bad.

you can look at it either way.. but i think that thing would be able to run games... barely, not more :)
