Hello all,, I just bought an nVidia quadro FX 3450 video card online (it says max comsuption 87 W on the envidia website)

I don't know if my PSU (375 W max) will be enough for the new video card.. because I read somewhere that some quadro need more that 350 W PSU but I dont know about mine specifically.

Does anyone know about this? I searched the web but I could not find the W requirements for my card,, not even in the nVidia website.

I use a Pentium D 840 processor and 2ghz of ram (corsair xms2?)

I also need to buy at least two fans for my case because it is getting a little hot.

Thanks a lot in advance.

There are PSU calculators around so you can get a general idea of how much power you'll be consuming under a full load. But honestly(as most of these calcs will say) wattage means very little. As long as you have something in the 25-30A range on the 12v rail, you should be alright. Of course, more is better...

hey thanks,, that was helpfull.. I did not know amperage was more important than wattage. .

I used one of those calculators and it says that I will need a 511W PSU so I will need a new one,,
