Any news on the release date of Nvidia's 700 series? Also,I wanted to know how well they stack agianst AMD's 7000 series? Im asking because im in the market of purchasing a new GPU, and befor I go spend $500 on AMD's 7970, I wanted to know if im making a good decision or if I should wait till Nvidia launches there line up.

From google, and I didn't look far, it seems that the official work from Nvidia is "early '12". So march would be believable.

From what I have gathered, we are looking at a late March, early April launch.

Nobody can comment on how the cards fare against the AMD 7000 series as there is no solid performance reports to go off, however even with that said I would wait. You are either going to get yourself a 7950/7970 but for less, because the Nvidia release will probably drop the prices, or you will get a better Nvidia card for the same price or less

From what I have heard is that 700 series is launching around the same time with Ivy Bridge CPUs.
In terms of budget I think you should wait.

I have seen threads on [H] with evidence that nvidia have been spreading propaganda about their upcoming cards, and downplaying competing cards. And to be fair I have seen it everywhere, for both sides...

Best thing to do is wait and buy after the reviews are out.

Thanks for the reply. Guess im going to wait then.No since in rushing to get a 7970, if Nvidia is launching theres in a month or two.Like you said, better to wait anyway, it will drop the prices down on AMD's line or get a better card at the same price.
