NZX Gamma or AZZA Orion?

So I've just found out that the case I was going to use for my build won't work, as the port cover in the back isn't removable. I have a $50 VISA gist card to work with...which means my options are pretty limited. I've narrowed it down to these two.

NZXT Gamma

AZZA Orion

The NZXT is a better-built case, with better features, but the AZZA is much, much better looking IMO. I don't care for the NZXT's looks that much, though with some blue LED fans it might be cool.

What would you folks do?

I actually had some others in mind as well, but apparently many sites(including Newgg) pre approve $1.00 over the actual amount for some reason, so the $49.99 ones won't go through. Price + Shipping has to be under $49. :(

edit: Would I be better off grabbing a better used case from eBay?

I have used both of these. The orion isn't the greatest quality of case but it's not that bad. It's a fairly decent budget case and if I was considering a cheap case I would defiantly look into it. The gamma is a great case for the price. It feels solid and well made for it's price range. The gamma only comes with 1 fan so if you do go with that I hope you have some spare fans laying around.

There is some other options though

Antec VSK-2000 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129069&Tpk=Antec vsk-2000 I'm sure you have already looked at it. Even though it is just a simple case it is solid but it does lack in the airflow.

Cooler master elite 330 http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=141815 I have my HTPC in the 332 and they are great cases for the price. They might not be a lot to look at but cooler master makes a great case even in the low price area.

Antec 200 http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10011545 I have not used this case but have heard good thing's about it. I am not a fan of the looks but that wouldn't sway me away from considering it.

I'm not sure if zipzoomfly is the same as newegg but you can check. If not then you could consider one of these as well.

I have looked at those three...they seem good but if I'm getting a black box, it's going to be the Gamma.

And actually, those two from ZZF were two that I seriously considered buying. I prefer the Orion to the Spartan, and the Aeroracer, which was actually my first pick, is about $1 over my limit.

edit: I've just had a thought. My visa gift card is from Wal-Mart...if I get one of their reloadable cards, I may be able to use my gift card to put money on it, and then some. I still don't want to spend much more though, so the thread is still relevant, though the Aeroracer may be back in play.

Actually, except for the side panel and faceplate, the Gamma and the M59 (and one of the Lexa models) are really the same case. It does look a bit better, but apart from the frills they have the same features, as far as I can tell.

I'm trying to budget myself pretty strictly on this...I won't have a whole lot to work with for this build.

Yea they are just about the same I also noticed that a while ago. Another good case is the NZXT beta or EVO. Also the cooler master elite 310 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...H&Description=cooler+master+elite+310&x=0&y=0 has been one of my favorites for a while also.

+1, the Beta's one of my favorites. It looks like Newegg's out of the "original," so here's the EVO version: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...146059&cm_re=nzxt_beta-_-11-146-059-_-Product

^ that's an awesome case from Stoic Sentinel, I would've recommended the same.

If you're dead-set on those 2 cases, get the NZXT.

It seems the general consensus is that the NZXT will be the better buy? I'll grab that, then, if I can't get the extra $$$.

If I can, though, I may just go for that Beta. I love the look of it(it was originally my first pick), and ZipZoomFly has it for $55 with free shipping. I don't want to go ANY higher though. I've spec'd out several computers, and every time, I end up adding $50-$100 because there's always a better part for "only $15" more. I just don't have the cash to do that, especially when there's only a minimal gain in functionality or, in this case, aesthetics. In the case of the Beta, however, I like it a LOT more than the gamma's odd angles, so I'm willing to shell out the extra $5.

One of my buddies had the Orion and didn't like it that much. But like what others have said, if you're torn between these two cases, it would be better to wait it out and save up a little more and get a better quality case.

Another thought is to check craigslist if you feel comfortable enough dealing with people in person. Can usually talk people down about $10 for what their asking, then that way you don't have to pay shipping and handling :good:

It's not an issue of saving up...I have a budget that I want to keep each component inside, and a very rigid total budget. So if I add $5 in one spot, I have to figure out how to save $5 in another. ZipZoomFly's combo system and free shipping will help quite a bit with that, thankfully.

As far as craigslist goes, Arkansas lists usually don't have any good stuff. I do check periodically, though. Usually it's OEM desktops with specs similar to, or a bit above the one in my sig. (which is more craptastic than yours, by the way! :P)
