oblivion on old pc?

i just have a question which is can "the elder scrolls iv : oblivion" run with 256mb of ram. my computer meets the quoted minimum for everything else and i want to know if it will be "playable".

i'm gunna say no to that, and you should be able to get some more ram cheap.

It'll play. To get by without getting more RAM (though you should upgrade anyway) Just set the view distances and foliage all the way down. Won't be ideal, graphics wise, to really experience the oblivion world.
