Hi, I am trying to overclock my e6750 to 3.2Ghz, which from other posts I realize people are have easy times doing so. So far I am only getting it to 2.8 (8x350). Here are my specs:

1.GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45

2. E6750 (8x350=2.8ooMhz) Vcore 1.328
3. 4x1gb CORSAIR XMS2 DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400C4)
4-4-4-12 @ 2.00v running at 840 MHz

4. SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4870 X2 atd efault clocks.
5. 850W SILVERSTONE PSU

Could the memory be the problem? I was reading a post where someone was playing with NBcore voltage.. Whenever I go over 8x360 then my computer shuts down and i have to reset the MB. Any ideas?

have you raised your processors voltage? if you havent, that is the most likely cause.

my e4500 could do 3ghz on 1.35V, i would think you need at least that to hit 3ghz, maybe 1.4v to reach 3.2ghz.

Mines 8 x 400 with a Vcore of 1.25 v so I don't think voltage is holding you back

I finally got it to work. I had to change the vcore to 1.375 and loosen the memory to 5-5-5-15 from 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v. If i had the memory at 2.0v it wouldn't be stable at all. At full load for 20 min the temp would be no more then 51c, which is under spec of 72c..
