OC my 3.8ghz

Ok I been reading these sticky things about OC and it says no one can tell you how much you may be able to overclock ya processor. But it also says as a general rule you may be able to OC by around 33% on average. I was going to ask that would mean I could get a 5ghz processor ! :eek: which seems abit high. And could it be said I could safely OC to say 4 - 4.2ghz if the facility isnt blocked.
 
That would be cool if you could safely overclock your processor to 5.00grz. I'm not even sure if there is a 5.00ghz processor.
 
LIQUID NITROGEN blimey bet it expensive keeping that cold. But yer I brought the processor at 3.8ghz, so whats the highest you would say it could be safely OC to with no problems. I mean like the smallest a processor has ever realybeen OC to, to the max, if you get what I mean :P .
 
When in the BIOS, and realizing that there are no possibillities when it comes to modifying the FSB/Multiplier options manually, does this mean the computer is not clockable?

Or are there other methods? (I have my doubts...)

You should deffinetly be able to overclock to at least 4Ghz.

Me? No. I've got a 2.2 GHz Celeron. I doubt I'll be able to clock it to 4 GHz. At the moment, I don't see how I can overclock it al all, as the FSB/Multiplier are locked.

But back to me. Is there hope or is there not considering the fact that the modes were locked in BIOS? ? doubt there are other ways of overclocking?

I bet Jon Boy could go a lot higher than 4, with adequate cooling.

Well, you're right, making a new thread is not that hard. However, it is obviously hard to reply, as I have already made a thread which got no replies, if we exclude my own reply.

Thus, I decided to 'invade' seemingly active threads in order to find answers.
 
ok The Weather, we see your point. Its against the rules to hijack other peoples threads. Lets stay on topic in this thread, and you can start a fresh thread again on your topic, and i'll answer it in the morning.

install a couple of big fans maybe even watercooling and you should be able to everclock it to at least 4.2 safely i think.
 
I think I have a huge huge fan in there already, seeming it sounds like a helicopter is that good enough? And how much does a decent water cooling system cost in the UK cos I cant bear this noise much longer. Plus I cant seem to get my case openm, I have undone all screws, do u think it just needs some brute force as the case may be slightly stiff.

ohh silly me, well I am a computer noob lol. Well I have no idea what that means so ohh well lol. Some people are just too clever hehe.
