Going to my friends house tomrow to help him OC his 6420 (or is it a 6320 or 6620 cant remeber) and XMS2 ram. However im only expeirenced overclokcing my rig in sig. Are the multipliers unlocked on those processors? What is the best way to get the best performance out of the 6420 and xms2 800.
FSB then FSB : RAM ratio an voltages is basically all i have done to mine what can i do differently to the C2D processor and the ram?

Thanks

hey, i have the e6420 and the xms2.

i use a 1:1 ratio, 400mhz FSB, and 8x multiplier on stock cooling, no voltage increases anywhere on a p5n32 680i

this give 3.2ghz CPU, and 800mHZ DDR2, perfect stability

Hey great thanks - do you ahve to lower the memory timings down a peg like i did in my overclcok - and what about the HT link

I have a E6400 (so only 2mb of cashe but everything elses is the same), I got 3.2ghz with 1:1 ratio with my ddr2 800 ram .. thats on stock voltage .. I'm sure it can do alot more thou..

Are you sure it's stock voltage, and not set to "Auto"?

Either way, thats a great overclock. I have mine currently running at 3.2Ghz as well, with a 1:1 ratio.
