First off, im fairly new to overclocking. But descided id give it a go when i got my new pc. A system that was pre-assembled.
CPU: i5-2570k
MoBo: ASUS p8z77-v LX
Heatsink: Noctua NH-D14
Memory: 4x4 Corsair Vengeance 1600
GPU: HD7970 from Sapphire
Im running into problems of keeping my temps under control, aswell as getting a stable voltage.
Im currently sitting at 44x (4.4Ghz) with my vcore set to 1.260, and CPU-Z is saying it goes as high as 1.272. LLC set to very-high (75%).
The temps im getting from Core Temp max out in the high 70s (core 0# 72, 1# 79, 2# 78, 3# 75)
Im not even sure if this setting is completely stable yet, all ive done was Prime95 for 1h. Which it did without errors or crashes. I tried going for 4.5Ghz, which is really what i wanted to get. But even after dialing my vcore upto 1.280 it was still unstable. And temps would all spike into the 80s.
From the general information ive gathered, on what is to be overall expected from an OC with the i5-3570k i can conclude two things. 1) Im doing something (very) wrong. Or 2) I got shit luck with my cpu.
I was hoping someone could offer some advice or tips on the matter.
