hi there

my mate vcjust oc'ed his 1.66MHz PC to 1.99 and now all it does is turn on but nothing appears

any ideas?

alright take the conver off the case and you should either see a clear cmos botton or the big silver battery on the motherboard. Either clear the cmos or pop the battery out wait a couple mins pop it back in and boot the computer should work

if you open up the computer, somewhere on the motherboard you should see a small watch battery. next to/relatively near that battery should be a jumper. switch the jumper, hit the power button on the computer, and wait 10 seconds. switch the jumper back, and boot up your computer. the overlcoking will be gone, so the processor will be back at 1.66, but the computer should boot. from there, start overclocking again!

i dont see the battery
Huh, wow, must be a weird motherboard. If there's no battery, then look around for jumpers, and test each one by switching it, powering on the computer aand then switching back, and then seeing if it works. Good luck!
