ocz brand, worth a try?

i have an ocz gamexstream 700w, i am very happy with it! i say go for it.

I was just reading up on the gamexstream version and that model seems to have won a ton of awards that I am now sifting through... is has caught my winking eye;)

OCZ is excellent, if you know who pcpower&cooling is(really good psu's, use seasonic internals, and the corsairs also use seasonic internals). Well, a few years back ocz bought pcpower& cooling, and while they are still two seperate lines the same department designs the psu's for both lines. Cant go wrong is an ocz(The ocz internals are FSP, the same interals as zalman uses, and my zalman psu in my sig has super stable power, and had like a 98% rating on one review site)

StealthXStream is the more "budgety" version of their OCZ power supply line. If you want to skimp on a few bucks, it should work out fine, but overall GameXStream if you can afford it.

Yeah, the StealthXStream dont have quite as good voltage stabality as a gameXstream but even then... excellent power supplies at the pricepoint(especially the 500w).

BAH!! im not impressed so far, i picked up a gameXstream a few hours ago, it seems to run pretty cool but the fan is freakin loud, even on idle!!!

I guess I got too used to my old antec, i'll be returning this thing tomorrow.

Really? The gamexstreams arent that loud imo.... faulty fan?

I dont think its a faulty fan but its the first one i've owned so im not sure... I do keep an open case which is why you might consider it to be quiet while i don't.

Well, then again my definition of not that loud is prolly different than yours, as i have a windows ac unit to begin with, an air purifier that runs on high, plus teh fans to whatever computer are running in my bedroom, along with my ps3...
