OCZ Vertex 4

I was looking at the OCZ Vertex 4, but i heard it had a firmware issue that made you completely clear it to upgrade and that destroyed all your data. This is for a completly new computer build so I dont want to install windows 7 then have to reinstall it. I want one but im not sure if this problem is still prevalent or if it was fixed. I need to know urgently because of the sale that's going on for the 256gb version of it. Thanks :D:D

typically with a firmware update that is always a concern regardless of drive, which is why they tell you to back up your data. i updated my agility 3 and had no data loss but always be aware of that...

Yes I had a Crucial M4 and it was awesome. I own a SanDisk Extreme 120GB now and it's very good too. Both of those drives have non-destructive firmware upgrades.

friend has a older kingston, seems okay, people seem to recommend the samsung...honestly to me the differences are really minor and what it comes down to is price, as long as you stick with a reputable brand you should be ok.

O.K. then. I think i might be going with the samsung 840 pro after reading some reviews on it.

The hyperX 3K is an awesome drive! I want one, but I'm already buying a new gpu, headset, mouse and speakers... Maybe after half a year when newer version comes out.

I got an agility 3 atm and never had that issue though...
I'd go for the hyperX 3k or the samsung.

The 840 wins some, the HyperX 3K wins some. Which ever one is the cheapest, In the real world you could never tell the difference.
