Odd Idea

Is there a way to setup a network video channel? The best way to explain it would be a sort of video channel that different computers on the network could access and watch. What I'm also interested in, if the first task is doable, is a way to schedule the videos to play at specific times or in a specific order. The last thing about this, is would it be possible to integrate it with a chat room? I figured I could use an IRC channel in place of the chat room but an integrated chat session with the video would be awesome.

Thanks

I have found a few VNC viewers that support audio, but does anyone know a good one that works with mac?

Hmm, audio support. I have never actually tried this. A good free VNC client for OS X is Chicken of the VNC (google it). I however use ARD admin, which is not free but very powerful.

However, I am not sure of what exactly it is you are trying to accomplish or your budget but here are some ideas.

1) make it web based, then pod cast, that will do everything

2) Set up OS X server and make a pod cast server, set up a launchd or cron job which has scheduled tasks. Make your video playback schedule, done

3) iChat server - ichat streams audio, video and text, this could also do it

4) VLC, will stream video over a network, its free open source. Not sure how you would schedule with it, but I am sure you could script it via perl, python, ruby, or bash
