odd internet problems

New Member
I post this here because it seems like the best fit. Just recently parts of several programs have stopped connecting to the internet. The list so far:

--Internet Explorer
--Xfire ads
--itunes store
--Steam store + community pages

they all give some error about not being able to connect to the internet. MBAM and AVG didn't find anything.

Are you purposely using a proxy server?

If not I would check that line and in Internet options/LAN SETTINGS I would untick "use a proxy server"

TFT: I did what you said about the proxy server thing and that seems to have fixed the problem. But im still worried about this proxy server line. Is that there because the option was checked for some reason, or could that have been put there by some malware?
