Odd Pc rebooting issue

So my friend came back from a 3 week vacation just recently and when she got home she turned her Dell 2350 on and all it would do is keep rebooting.........it would not display anything on the screen, it would just reboot none stop. So I pulled the 2 stick of ram and reinserted them, oddly all is well now, it stopped rebooting

What could cause this? Do you think the ram is dying or maybe the mobo?

Im guessing a chip might have been loose. or the ram as you mentioned.

Im just curious how that would happen when the pc has not been turned on for 3 weeks and before they left it was working fine

maybe a power surge? It's too hard to pin point why a computer might need a little kick in the pants to get working again after being idle for a while. Maybe the motherboard battery is getting low?
