i recently purchased an ultra case and 750w modular power supply bundle, hooked everything up and the psu wouldn't turn on. i put an old 500w in and it worked fine. hooked up the psu to a different machine, and it didn't turn on either.
i live in an old house that was built in 1919, and unfortunately i do not have many grounded outlets. is it possible that the lack of gfci would cause the power supply to not turn on due to some safety feature?
after all of the discounts and mirs, the whole thing cost like 15 bucks, so i just ate it and checked some things in the psu. i made sure power was flowing thru the switch to the board w/ a meter, everything looked OK inside of it. i know ultra is not a great brand, i assume it's just a bad psu. i did check voltage across power supply on and attempted to jump it, didn't turn on and voltage there varied between 3 and 5 volts. idk might just ebay it, maybe someone can fix it or use the cables, it's a decent psu honestly - modular 750w ultra special edition x4.
