oem cpu?

what does it mean if a cpu is oem?all i see is that its cheaper

it means it doesn't come with a cpu cooler and that newegg won't cover it for as long. i think it goes from like a 30 day return policy to 7 day or something like that.

intel covers all it's processors for 3 years though, so no worries.

Intel has (no) warrantee on OEM processors and 3 years on Retail/Box processors

AMD has (no) warrantee on OEM processors and 3 Years on Retail/Box processors.

AMD used to give 1 year on there OEM but dropped it.

The only warrantee on OEM is through where you bought it.
