Hello everyone. Might be a bit complicated issue here.
I received a used Acer laptop from a relative a few days ago. It has not been used in over a year. Once I turned it on in normal mode for a few minutes, a blue screen with alot of nonsense appeared and restarted the laptop. Being a bit frustrated, I wanted to recover the whole system, but Acer laptops don't offer that option (like pressing F11 on HP systems for example). A Vista disk was lying around so I popped it in to see if anything could fix my problem. But it pretty much removed all the basic drivers and programs that comes with the OS (skipped typing a key). A product key is located at the bottom, but it's not valid. So I'm wondering if there's some type of disk that can be used to recover my laptop with the OEM key provided. Or is it best to spend $200 on a new OS like Windows 7?
Thanks in advance
