what I can't figure out is why some people ship some insignificant hardware part to avoid a regulation that OEM OS can only be sold as part of a system while others can just sell them outright. It is very confusing if you don't know the details. What does an OEM system lack other than the box and papers sold with the retail version. Can they get tech support and patches? (if they are legal copies)
I've bought OEM software...it just comes with a CD...no box or manual. Installing on multiple PCs, (legally, of course), depends on the software; Nero would, Norton probably would not as it requires activation.
