my school gave me a copy of thier OEM verison of windows vista ultimate to use since i fix the computers on campus.

I thought OEM was for one computer only. im taking it that this OEM version is for unlimited use jsut like a industrial key. cuz when installing this version there's no key needed or activation. it's already activated ready to go once isntalled.

I've installed this on 50+ computers on campus and they all have same product id but yet not one problem so i guess its fine.

What do you think

the thing about this 1 per computer is that its on every computero n campus. all share same key but are all diff models of computers that we upgraded to vista. they all update as usual and never hade one problem with them not being genuine. so i dont know what the school has bought but the id says oem. so who knows

also to add to this the OEm veriosn is DELL. and i installed it on my moms computer that is a HP and its been running for 3 months no problems. so that OEM crap assigning hardware to the windows is not true in this situation.

oh, what school has done, is bought an OEM copy and then bought a business licence and that serial can be used on as many computers... that is what your school has done.... most likely.

Also i got a copy of dell vista and i have had it running on my built PC for a couple of months now :)

well i guess this copy if fine to use so ill try to get my own copy for personal use. which shouldnt be a problem as i help out the tech guys for student assiastance.

how do they buy a unlimited licenses key that never has to be entered. i never have to do any thing wiht activation or registration at the end or enter the key. so HMMM got me stumped
