Office build help

Hi,

I'm starting my own buisness and I'm trying to build 10 to 12 sets ment for daily office work. I heard that you can get good deals when importing some components from China or India. I just don't know any distributors who would ship it at a fair cost to both Europe and Canada.
I'm looking for 7-9 LCD's around 21" each and 3 above 30 inch. Also some cheap components for desktop computers and some accessories like headsets, webcams - you get the general idea.
Does anyone know some distributors in China, India, or maybe Canada or the States, who would provide it at a fair price?
 
Importing cheap parts from china is a good way to get a crappy machine that'll die on you in three years...

Where are you located, and how much can you spend per machine?

edit: Didn't you say that three of them would do editing work? What kind? Programs used?

I'm located both in Canada and Europe (Germany/Poland). Machines I need will be meant for the European offices. I can spent around 500$ max for each set, plus some extra 100-150$ for 3-4 workstations for graphic designers / IT stuff.

This equipment is just for now (a year, maybe a little longer than that), cause in the future I'm planing to expand the staff and get some EU funding for the business, so i don't really mind if the computers will break down in 3 years.

I'm looking for some simple office work machines with accessories like headsets and webcams and lets say (for now) 3 better machines for the graphic designer and the IT guys.
 
That includes everything? Windows, monitors, keyboards, mice, and the tower as well?

Are you buying them in Canada?

I'm thinking of Canada, the US but also China or India. Definitely not in Europe, where the prices are very high and the components are Chine manufactured anyway.

So...you don't need Windows?

Basically I'm asking if Windows is included in the $500 budget for them. Fitting Windows AND peripherals in will be difficult.

So you can buy from either the US or Canada? The US would have slightly better prices and selection, but only if you have a US address to ship to. Otherwise, Canada would be the best bet. Let me know which one and I can put a build together. Not sure how you're going to get them to Europe though...?

I've been looking for some deals online and found a supplier from China through momoway.com, who can provide me with some cheap, used components, but I want to hear your opinion on the build first. So, any ideas?
 
You don't want used components. That's just asking for trouble.

Do you know what kind of RAM you're trying to get from that site? Or the model of the hard drives? (used hard drives are a DEFINITE no-no, by the way)

So Windows is included in software...alrighty.

You never said if you can actually buy from a Canada or US-based store. Note that none of the major retailers in either country offer international shipping besides Tigerdirect, and you have to do it over the phone with them. Otherwise you'd have to ship it to a US or Canadian address, and then ship it to Europe from there. If you CAN order from the US or Canada, which one is it? (The US has cheaper prices, so if it's both, I'd order from there)


edit: Never asked before, but when you said $500, I'm assuming you meant CAD and not USD?

I know that used components is asking for trouble, but then again, it's cheap and I'm going to get some kind of warranty.

The RAM is DDR2 - 1 GB cubes from Kingstone. And the HDD's, that I'm not so sure about. From what I know momoway will have more deals to offer, so I don't know about those used ones. Maybe I'll wait a bit or try searching somewhere else?

In theory I can order both from Canada and the US, but I will have to pay additional taxes for the equipment when shipping it to Europe. The US prices are really what I'm looking for, but the price + the tax doesn't look so good.
 
Interesting predicament here. At this price point, you'll be wanting AMD systems. The quality of the current socket AM3 based boards has gone up significantly compared to the older AM2+. But, AM2+ generally uses the older DDR2, while AM3 uses the newer DDR3. However, the AM2 boards are often cheaper, and still aren't "bad" quality.

So what'll it be?

I can build a very capable office system using DDR3 with monitor, mouse, and keyboard included for $500, and I can do a slightly less powerful one it with a DDR2 system as well. But either way, I gotta know what mobo to base it off of, you know? I'll check back tomorrow and put a couple of builds together form newegg.com and newegg.ca. (assuming my fiancee doesn't steal me for the night :/ )

That kind of system can easily handle multitasking, memory intensive work, graphics/3d work and is reliable, low power usage. And all parts have warranty from the manufacturer.

Good build, but I have to ask...why the Ballistix Tracer?

edit: I was under the impression that the peripherals were needed as well? Mouse/keyboard/monitor?
