Ok, heres the slim and short of it. I'm helping start a land development firm, and we are looking to streamline our contact management system with something that is a little more friendly and specific to our needs. FYI our current system is a word template
. I keep trying to suggest bigger and better, but I honestly don't know where to start.
This is what I know I want:
- database, preferably server-side, so that once our office is up and running, we can access from the road or the office.
- effective UI, not unlike a card catalogue or rolodex card.
- customizable fields. This is a MUST. We need to be able to enter the information we need, not a preset.
- simple maintainence/upkeep. I can learn, but the other office members' knowledge of anything technical is relatively limited. If someone needs to go in and change the field names or categories, they should be able to with minimal difficulty.
That being said, is a combination of my wants a possibility? If so, where do I find it? If not, how close can I get?
