johnb35, I tried to pm but it says I don't have that option yet. I am not going against what you say, and want to abide by the board rules. But, I am concerned as to why I couldn't ask that if I have a new trial disk from a bundled book set from school. Can you pm me?

thanks

JJ

You need 100 posts to be able to send or receive PM's. A trial is a trial, we can't help you get around that. If you really need the software then buy it.

I would recommend LibreOffice over OpenOffice - they're essentially the same thing (LibreOffice is a fork of OpenOffice), LibreOffice just happens to be better and far more actively developed. I'm not going to tell the entire the story behind the LibreOffice fork, but I'll just say that OpenOffice is, as far as future development is concerned, essentially dead.

not that I don't agree with buying if I need it, but MS shouldn't bundle something in books for people in school if they can't use it.

They put it there for you to try it, if you like it then buy it, if you don't like it then throw it away. That is why they put it there. Try to sell you.
cheers.
