I guess I'm more of an optimist than everyone else because I think that this game is great, I gave it a solid 8/10. I love how the world is completely open for you to explore, something which is fairly new, if not brand new, to an FPS game. It's cool because you don't always have to do missions, you could just run around and cause havok, killing people and blowing things up (IED's are amazing

). Also, the weapon purchase and armory systems are brilliant, and work perfectly with the open-ended gameplay and means that you will always have enough ammo (something I hate is an FPS which provides little to no ammo!) and a brand new gun just in case yours is getting a bit old. That's another thing too, weapons which are older appear rusty and scratched and jam more often than brand new guns.
As for the missions, ya they are a bit straight-forward, drive here and either kill someone or take something, but that doesn't mean they are boring. It is an FPS, after all, and I bought the game so I could shoot something, not look around at the scenery (still, though, the scenery is really nice). Also, though, there is variety to the missions. When you take a mission for either the APR or the UFLL, your buddy will sometimes call you and offer alternative ways to complete or mess with your objective. For example, yesterday I got a mission where I had to perform a hit on a police chief. Originally I was expected to find his convoy moving throughout the jungle, and kill him there. However, my buddy called me and suggested I go speak with him. When I got there, he provided a tip that if I go to the police chief's brother and intimidate him enough, I can get a book filled with the bribes the chief took over the years. Next thing I know, I'm holding a machete to a guy's throat and taking that book. Anyway, long story short the police chief heard about this and was scared into hiding at the police HQ. I go there, kill a bunch of guards, a find the chief hiding in a closet. One execution-style hit later, I complete the mission.
But seriously, the game is really fun to play. I've encountered absolutely no bugs... and I don't know what version you got Kornowski, but I seriously can't drive two minutes without almost running over a zebra or a rhino... sure, the characters have paper-thin personalities and the enemies often spot you in hiding from a long distance away... but all in all I have a hell of a lot of fun playing this game.
Definitely not Fail Cry.
