I thought it'd be a good idea, if the mods could merge the other threads some-how and just have one big collective one to post screens in and discuss the game.

Tell us what you think of it, Pros (I know, try and think of some!) and cons (Try to keep it to one post!).

----------------------------------------------

I'm bummed that it's nothing like it was hyped up to be... they shouldn't be allowed to do that. Seriously.

I rated it a 4/10

Pros:

Large Map
Non-linear
Burn, Burn, Burn

Cons:

Retarted AI - Stand there and let you shoot them, watch their friend get shot.
Drive, Drive, Drive, kill 5 people, Drive, Drive, Look at map, Drive some more.
Weapons... totally crap.
Graphics, aren't any-where near as good as I thought they'd be.
Characters have the personality of a soggy piece or cardboard.
Savannah doesn't have any wildlife apparently.
Slower than a drunk snail.
Every car has a GPS, hello... We're in Africa!
Random missions, don't really seem to make any sense.
Physics... What Physics?
Enemies have super, dupa spy-o vision and can spot you from 1,000 miles away.

Should have called it Fail Cry 2.

i haven't played enough to make a decision yet, but i haven't liked any of the games in the series so i am not expecting to like this one either. (does crysis count as far cry series?) they are nothing but tech showcases, and this one doesn't even have that going for it because it looks like ass. my impression of it so far is that it is a stalker wannabe in an African setting, without any of the good qualities stalker had.

if i had to rate it today it would get a 5/10 but i will rate it once i have played it more and can give it a fair chance.

but yeah, fail cry 2 would have been a more accurate name

I guess I'm more of an optimist than everyone else because I think that this game is great, I gave it a solid 8/10. I love how the world is completely open for you to explore, something which is fairly new, if not brand new, to an FPS game. It's cool because you don't always have to do missions, you could just run around and cause havok, killing people and blowing things up (IED's are amazing :D). Also, the weapon purchase and armory systems are brilliant, and work perfectly with the open-ended gameplay and means that you will always have enough ammo (something I hate is an FPS which provides little to no ammo!) and a brand new gun just in case yours is getting a bit old. That's another thing too, weapons which are older appear rusty and scratched and jam more often than brand new guns.

As for the missions, ya they are a bit straight-forward, drive here and either kill someone or take something, but that doesn't mean they are boring. It is an FPS, after all, and I bought the game so I could shoot something, not look around at the scenery (still, though, the scenery is really nice). Also, though, there is variety to the missions. When you take a mission for either the APR or the UFLL, your buddy will sometimes call you and offer alternative ways to complete or mess with your objective. For example, yesterday I got a mission where I had to perform a hit on a police chief. Originally I was expected to find his convoy moving throughout the jungle, and kill him there. However, my buddy called me and suggested I go speak with him. When I got there, he provided a tip that if I go to the police chief's brother and intimidate him enough, I can get a book filled with the bribes the chief took over the years. Next thing I know, I'm holding a machete to a guy's throat and taking that book. Anyway, long story short the police chief heard about this and was scared into hiding at the police HQ. I go there, kill a bunch of guards, a find the chief hiding in a closet. One execution-style hit later, I complete the mission.

But seriously, the game is really fun to play. I've encountered absolutely no bugs... and I don't know what version you got Kornowski, but I seriously can't drive two minutes without almost running over a zebra or a rhino... sure, the characters have paper-thin personalities and the enemies often spot you in hiding from a long distance away... but all in all I have a hell of a lot of fun playing this game.

Definitely not Fail Cry.

I don't know, I mean, it's a good game... but I feel there's far too many things that they said or showed that'd be in it, that I've just not even seen! Not once have I broken a limb back, or popped my shoulder back in after falling out the car when I crash. I've pulled bullets out of myself, maybe twice. All the other times I'm sticking some needle in my arm like a little heroin addict.

There must be about... let me count... 4 cars in the whole game. If you notice, they pretty much all sound the same, too. Put the handbrake on and accelerate, when you stop accelerating, the car engine sound just stops. It doesn't fade out, or carry on gargling like a normal engine, it just stops.

Everybody who can tell their ass from their elbow shoots at me... I seriously haven't seen anybody besides my buddies and the people in the cease fire zone, simply drive past, or walk past. They've all got to shoot me.

Animals, I think I've seen about 3 different types, chickens, zebras and some wild bore thing. That's it.

I'm really not impressed with it at all...

Oh and the graphics, they do kind of look like something that was made in the 1980's.

Remember, ubisoft did this one, not crytek, so maybe that's why it is not as good. I will play it eventually, it sounds good and looks amazing.

Far Cry 1 was epic, it would be very hard for them to make a sequel that would be better.
The AI in FC2 for me is pretty good, I'm playing on Hardcore difficulty with no crosshairs and I often die in long firefights. The graphics aren't horrible, the textures are what brings it down, higher res textures would make this game look great. I'd rate it about a 6/10 so far.

I thoroughly enjoyed Far Cry 1, But my computer is back in India, so until I go back there, there's gonna be no gaming for me.

I've concluded that this game is Marmite in disc form, you either love it or you hate it.

So far, it tastes like crap... I think if I try a bit more of it, I'll start to like it.

I bought it today, and well, was slightly disappointed at first. It better than the average FPS IMHO. The graphics are good, the colors put me off a bit, but I am spoiled from the lush green environment depicted in crysis. The voice acting seems good, the charachters you meet are rendered and look great, they improve my graphics rating. The vehicles are a little generic and expected but I haven't played much. The guns are unloackable through side quests so i have only used a few. The world is frickin huge and can be navigated through bus stops or driving which is nice. I am glad I can max out settings and have 2x AA and 8X AS on CCC. I think I'll give it a 7.

As far as the GPS in every car, I would assume its the characters, not the individual cars, since its the same in each vehicle, also I though the AI was good, turn up the difficulty :-). I also thought the characters where good. I would recommned it to anyone who likes FPS.

I haven't played it yet, but as for the graphics... i think we've all been spoiled by crysis :P

Speaking of which, i bought warhead, and have played it twice... i almost forgot i bought it.. :(

Gotta give it a 7. I am 12% through the game and these are my issues.

Cons.
1. Weapons....sorry 1 head shot should be all required to kill you...not 2.

2. AI...."duh timmy timmy"

3. Fully Explorable? MY ASS...wasn't aware all the roads were covered by cliffs in Africa.

4. Fully Destroyable? My grenades don't even make dents in the earth more like 50/50 destroyable.

5. Wounding a solider so his buddies help him....I shoot them in a foot and they die...I shoot them in the head and the fall to the ground crying sometimes.

6. Where the hell is the demos graphics? My rig isn't "omg" but my friends is and his looks no better then mine.

7. Assassin's Creed missions the same 3-4 missions OVER and OVER when your not doing buddy missions or main quest missions...BORING after 30 times.

8. Stealth...what stealth I knife a guy without him knowing and his buddies shoot at me from the other side of the area. At night and day it sucks ~_~.

9. Quests...I don't want to wait and click E every damn time he talks or I want a quest.

Pros
Wanna burn people alive?
Nice array of weapons
weapon decay is a cool feature
You can run wild life over with your car (very few animals on very high)

Whats the sound? UBI dropping the ball.

Good to see somebody else shares the same views as me, Twist.

I'm really hoping that they bring a patch out for this game soon, there's so many things that just aren't right with it.

I haven't played it yet either, I'm assuming it's basically Far Cry but with Crysis graphics, I don't really feel like shelling out $50 for it right now.

^ By reading this thread, it doesn't even have 50% of Crysis graphics. And looks like the only fun thing is setting grass on fire.. Not worth it :P

i posted earlier in the thread but wouldn't review it because i hadn't played it enough to be fair, but now i have.

it's a crap game.

The game is badass, I like it better than crysis I think. Seems more real. I like the huge openness with no loading frames. Gun jamming is cool. It's funny how he shoves his finger into a bullet hole in his arm and pushes the bullet out:D:D. Day and night cycles are awesome. One gripe I have is alot of the time you cant see where you are being shot at from with he game being so open. I'm running around trying to find the son of a $it^% for three minutes. Finally you find him sitting up on a cliff shooting at you, at times I wish I had the crysis radar. The vehicles are awesome. Not being able to save a game whenever you want is really stupid. Buying weapons is somewhat confusing. I have an ar-15 type gun and a flamethrower, I buy a shotgun and it forces you to trade the ar-15 for the shotgun. Why would I want a shotgun and flamethrower? I want a close range weapon and a long range! Graphics look good to me, I have it on Ultra High with 2x AA at 1280x1040. I'm running a 9800gtx plus, 750i, E8400 overclocked @ 3.6ghz, 4gig ddr2 800.

It doesn't sell your shotgun...it puts it in the ammo depot right next to the shop. I have 50% of the weapons and they just put them all over the walls inside.

Another beef I have is I got my Dragunov and to my disappointment there is no drag or any kind of element effecting shot. Hardly any recoil at all too. UBI should stop promising things they can't deliver :/

I tell ya Sniper Elite ruined me for sniper classes. I hope to god there is a 600mb+ patch coming.
