I run Ubuntu 7.10 fulltime on my desktop, but I have Fedora, Slackware, PCLinuxOS, TeenPup2008, Mandriva, (plus XPP, and Vista) all running on VmWare. I just play around with the others for now. I may change my production OS soon.

I use Mandriva 2008, cause it's fast, it uses KDE, it's fairly easy to use, it has a good community, etc

well jordan, seems now you're a mandriva fanboy huh.. what ever happened to ubuntu ?
see thats the thing with linux, you start using a distro then you move to another and say, "ah its better".
anyways been a very long while since i installed any distro on my pc, last linux was ubuntu 7.04, i was downloading suse10.3 but my pc screwed up so... seems i wont ever use it until i fix that darn thing :o
anyways i voted Suse i started out with it, so am a die with it !!

I only use LiveCD's, but I've used PCLinux, Ubuntu, and SLAX. SLAX is the quickest to boot and exit.

I mostly use Redhat/Fedora, they are the same thing and occasionally Gnoppix so that would be Ubuntu too I guess.

It's not on my home machine for obvious reasons, but I use Solaris at work from time to time.

Debian. It's the distro I learnt on and very close to straight-up Unix (at least according to my textbook.)

I started with Debian to program Atmel AVR, Atmega8L. I moved over to Ubuntu for some reason. The main reason why I used Debian based OS is because how easy its is to install and manage software through synaptic, apt-get. Debian was the first distro to be based on packages.

but i also run damn small linux on my xbox alot of the time

orly? how was the install? workign good for you?

Hey where is BSD :P

This thread and otehrs show how far Linux has come. Its extreamly easy to install and maintain now. crazy stuff.

Nope! I'd probably be using ubuntu right now if it weren't for that it was heavier than mandriva and for some reason it never worked with flash. I used to use it on my "old" computer but it won't even turn on now. :P Not to mention it fries HDs.

i use red-hat since high school.. so i voted Red-hat :D
but i think Ubuntu also a good one, but since it's the first time i like linux, i choose redhat

I mainly use Windows, but when I want to use a Linux distro, I also use Ubuntu. I found it to be easier to use than SUSE, and on the occasions when I do have questions about it, their help forum has proven to be very useful.

Yeah Cromewell!!! red hat type of guy... im mostly one just because my dad was one of the first to work for it...
